![]() ![]() It will Arm the system, but will only Disarm if the Installer Code was used to Arm. The Vista-20P panel won't accept a User Code change to its existing Installer Code and somewhere in the process the user loses track of what the User Code is, thinking it's the Installer code. ![]() If it does, then you're 100% sure it's a working User Code and THEN you can Arm and Disarm with it.Īnother error that occasionally happens: A novice will try to be cute and make the Master/User Code the same as the Installer Code. So to test a new Code, enter CODE + 9 to see if it toggles the CHIME feature on and off. If you're testing, then you're not 100% sure. You cannot get into programming if the panel is Armed. At the same time, it's possible to Arm the system without knowing the Code, and if you do that, you can lock yourself out of the panel. Because it's too easy (and not uncommon) to goof the code change somewhere in the process, and enter a code different than the one you intended. Don't do that! Don't ever Arm a system if you're not already 100% sure of your Code. The keypads themselves don't know if a Code is right or not-they just send key entries to the V-20P Panel, and the Panel recognizes when a correct Code is entered.Ī word of caution: A common novice mistake is to change a Code, then test the code by Arming and then Disarming. ![]() Yes, when you program a new Master Code/User Codes, they will be recognized from all keypads. ![]()
